Mountain Lion Story

This is the third of a three part series of poems about Mountain Lions.

Text:

People hunt me and I don't know why.
They build buildings that reach the sky.
If they can do that, why don't they help me.
If I wen near them, they would chase me up a tree.
I never did anything bad.
The way that they treat me just makes me sad.
They think i don't matter, but I really do.
Many are like that, maybe even you.
They hunt all my food until it is gone.
They hunt it until there is not even one.
They don't think I have feelings, but I do.
I hope that you don't think this too.
All I want is a place to live, hunt, grow and play.
I just want a place to be safe the whole day.
They are dangerious to the others and me.
We would be nice to them if they would let us be.
They don't understand that I need to be free.
Wild forever is the way it should be.
Hunting is not a sport as they say.
It means to kill living things, not play.
They take away my home all day.
Things should not be this way.
